How to Pre-Order Modern Warfare 4
Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 opened with the May 28, 2026 reveal on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (Play Anywhere), Battle.net, and Steam. Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders opened later — Activision cited August 26 in support material — because that build is a native Digital Legends port, not an afterthought stream.

Digital, step by step
Open the platform store you actually play on. Choose Standard ($69.99 / £69.99 / €79.99 regional) or Vault ($99.99 / £99.99 / €109.99). If you own a qualifying 2019-or-later Call of Duty on that same account, Vault should show the 10% loyalty price. Complete the purchase on the storefront, not on a key site.
Link the storefront to Activision at callofduty.com. Digital pre-orders auto-register beta (already over) and Campaign Early Access on October 16. You will not receive a 13-character code. If you wanted a code, you bought physical — that flow is on beta codes.

Physical and upgrades
Physical Standard exists on PS5 and Xbox through retailers. It does not upgrade to Vault. Digital Standard does, for $30, on the same store. Best Buy and similar partners have run Steelbook bundles; those are retailer cosmetics, not a third Activision edition.
Game Pass will not give you a launch copy. Last-gen consoles cannot buy it. If the loyalty discount is missing, you are on a different account than the one that played Black Ops 7. Qualifying list is on Vault Edition.
After you pay
Confirm Hunter Killer in Black Ops 7 / Warzone barracks if you pre-ordered digital. Confirm the MW4 tile in your library. Switch 2 buyers should expect a later pre-load than PS5/Xbox. For what Vault actually puts in the barracks, stay on Vault rather than this procedure page.
